RADIANT YACU LTD indemnify the insured subject to the limit of indemnity in respect to the insured’s livestock during the period of insurance
due to the because of: Accident (lightning, internal and external injuries, snake bites, flooding, and landslide. Emergency slaughter on advice
of a qualified veterinary surgeon /practitioner, Epidemics, The policy cover: indigenous, cross bred and exotic cattle, pigs, and Chicken.
Coverage/ Benefit::
The Insurer will indemnify the insured, subject to the limit of indemnity, in respect to the insured’s livestock during the period of insurance, due to death as a result of
- Accidents (lightning, internal and external injuries, windstorms, snake bites and flooding)
- Illness and diseases of terminal nature
- Emergency slaughter on advice of a qualified veterinary surgeon
- Epidemics
Eligibility:
- The policy will cover crossbred and high yielding exotic cattle.
- The duration of the contract is one (1) year.
Administration:
This product is administered in Partnership with MINAGRI as the executive authority for the National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (NAIS); where the insurance company is responsible in underwriting the risk and implementation of the scheme.
Specific requirements at the enrolment stage (acceptance of risk)
Cattle:
- Identification of animal is important
- 100% enrollment shall happen through RFID only. Identification marks, breed, color and age of animal should be clearly noted in the proposal form and veterinarian’s report
- Veterinary Certificate at the time of enrollment on the status of the cattle health
- RFID microchips to be injected / implanted and the bar code number to be entered into the Veterinary Health Certificate / Doctor’s Certificate and also in the policy certificate
- Cattle is allowed to be covered having minimum 3 months of birth up to 8 Years, with a waiting period of 14 days for natural death and the accidental death is automatically covered upon premium payment.
Pigs:
- Identification of animal is important
- Veterinary Certificate at the time of enrollment on the status of the pig health
- To inject the Plastic ear tag to pig
- Piglet is allowed to be covered having minimum 30 days of birth with a waiting period of 14 days for natural death and the accidental death is automatically covered upon premium payment.
Poultry:
- Identification of animal is important
- Veterinary Certificate at the time of enrollment on the status of the chicken health
- Chicken is allowed to be covered having minimum 15 days of birth/Lot specified by the supplier/with a waiting period of 7days for natural death and the accidental death is automatically covered upon premium payment.
